Hello

My name is Anna Thompson and I have over 30 years of teaching experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I have spent most of my time teaching math but developed a love for ELA in my later years. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and a Master of Science Degree in Special Education Teaching. Like most public school teachers I was miserable teaching in a traditional setting but loved working with students. I prayed about it and God gave me the inspiration to start a virtual school. True story. Exceptional Village Academy was born in June 2020. As the lead teacher at EVA, I believe ALL students can learn if they have guidance, motivation, and a safe, supportive setting to explore interests and take educational risks. At EVA we celebrate daily successes and look forward to becoming lifelong learners. I love LOVE what I do! If you are looking for a school that is small but mighty, EVA is for you!
