Welcome to EVA!
Students deserve to see themselves in what they learn—not just in history class, but in literature, science, the arts, and every corner of the curriculum. At Exceptional Village Academy, we serve students from all backgrounds and create a space where African American culture and roots are respected, reflected, and celebrated. Families who value this connection feel at home here. We believe African American history, voices, and contributions should be studied as a right and a privilege—not just a requirement. This isn’t a one-month moment. It’s part of how we teach, learn, and think every day.
Students explore how their history shapes innovation, creativity, and the world around them. Whether it’s in a science project, a writing prompt, or a classroom discussion, they see that their identity and culture belong in every space.
EVA is about more than academics. It’s about belonging. We’re a small online school for grades 6 through 12 that supports students who learn differently and families looking for something more personal. Classes are built with care and purpose, focusing on real-life skills, critical thinking, and creativity. Learning isn’t about memorizing facts or sitting through long lectures. Instead, students engage in meaningful discussions where their thoughts, questions, and voices matter. They learn by making connections, exploring ideas, and working on hands-on projects that help them express who they are and what they care about. Each student grows at a pace that feels right for them, with space to be curious, challenged, and confident.
Exceptional Village Academy Mission Statement
At Exceptional Village Academy, our mission is to support an educational journey that builds character, confidence, and purpose for all students. We empower students to discover the truth about their histories, celebrate their heritage, create boldly, and thrive through project-based learning, research, and critical thinking. Through strong academics, personalized learning, and character development expressed through electives in visual arts, culinary arts, digital photography & media, theatre arts, building & engineering, music & creative expression, and business & entrepreneurship, our students will step into the real world ready to create, lead, and turn ideas into opportunities.
